I had the honor of speaking on a panel on behalf of the Honduran Female Filmmakers Collective for the “Impacto Violeta” event. In front of deputies, secretarial authorities, authorities from international organizations and women leaders from various organizations and associations that help prevent violence against women and children in Honduras.
I was asked to highlight the achievements we made together with more than 15 members of the HFFC in the project “Transforming Imaginaries”. They asked me to talk about how cinema can be a tool for social transformation and help prevent violence against women and girls in the country. This project was carried out between 2020/2021 with Glasswing Honduras and Iconic Women where we benefited more than 100 young people nationwide with a film school. The young people made short films with themes of women's rights, violence and femicide.
